Ventilation systems endeavour to control ambient temperatures within a living or working environment, in order to create a more comfortable environment, thereby being not too hot or cold. Both heaters and air conditioning require large amounts of electricity to reach suitable ambient temperatures, and maintain them. This has led to an increased interest in ventilation, as various natural or mechanical / electrical methods can be used, to achieve a more suitable environment, without the high electricity consumption, and cost thereof. A further reason is the lack of functionality, caused by frequent load shedding.
IMPORTANCE
Ventilation has become more important for the following reasons:
- More comfortable living or working environments
- More cost efficient than heaters and air conditioning
- No to minimal maintenance is required on these units
- Much healthier than heating or air conditioning
- Continual fresh air vs recycling of same air
- Uncomplicated installation methods
- Various options are available
